From CS 1.6 to Mouz via Call of Duty and Cheating Accusations
Robin Kool’s journey began a long time ago. He started playing Counter-Strike 1.6 when he was just seven years old. At that time, he learned the basics and discovered KreedZ (KZ) Mode. He spent a lot of time on this server and mastered all the nuances of movement. Ropz went through different eras with Mouz, spending four and a half years with the team, experiencing ups and downs. His early years were spent adapting to the schedule and nuances of professional life. Even when the team is not performing well, his experience increases, making him a better player.
His first big win came at the 2017 ESG Tour Mykonos. Although the tournament didn’t go as planned, Mousesports emerged victorious, and ropz later regretted not jumping into the pool near the awards ceremony.
2018 was a breakthrough year for ropz: wins at StarLadder & i-League Season 4 and V4 Future Sports Festival Budapest, as well as reaching the playoffs at the ELEAGUE Major Boston, strengthened his confidence and showed everyone that his abilities are very high. . Unfortunately, this increase meant that Ropz had to extend his final year of school by two, as he could no longer balance his education and traveling around the world.
Later, the ropz star shone brighter. In 2019, Karrigan joined the team, building a system where Robin became the main weapon. The end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 became the most successful period for Mousesports with ropz: the team won several tournaments, and this helped Robin get into the top 10 players of the year.
During the pandemic, ropz continued to perform at a high level, but Mouz experienced difficult times. Things didn’t go according to plan, and Ropz’s incredible individual performance didn’t result in the title. Therefore, it is not surprising that news broke of his transfer to his dream team, FaZe Clan.
FaZe Clan: Career Highs (so far)
One of the key factors behind Ropz’s transfer was Karrigan’s presence in the lineup. The Danish in-game leader once again built a hugely successful system, and just four months after joining FaZe, ropz lifted the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 trophy. This marked the start of the team’s golden era, culminating in an Intel Grand Slam win.
Ropz became a superstar and the team’s main weapon. This saw him named the third best player in the world in 2023, behind only ZywOo and NiKo.
Today, ropz is known as a super talented player in his prime, very aware of his gameplay. His settings have become a benchmark for many players, and he is jokingly called the developer of CS2. He showed no signs of slowing down. In Counter-Strike 2, FaZe Clan has won the CS Asia Championships 2023, and IEM Chengdu 2024. His team entered the Shanghai Major cycle as favorites.
