After more than two decades since her debut which was canceled, the mysterious character Ingrid is finally ready to be “reborn” in the main Street Fighter 6 series. Capcom has officially released the latest gameplay trailer as well as confirming her presence as a playable character in this popular fighting game.
For some old fans, Ingrid is not a new name. She was first designed for the crossover game Capcom Fighting All-Stars which was unfortunately canceled in 2003. Even though the project failed to release, Capcom still maintained Ingrid’s design because it was considered unique and interesting.
This character later appeared in several other titles such as Capcom Fighting Evolution and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max. However, this appearance is considered more of a “spin-off appearance”, not an official debut in the main Street Fighter line.
Now, through Street Fighter 6, Ingrid finally gets the stage she deserves as part of the main roster.
From the released gameplay trailer, Ingrid still maintains her trademark—agile movements with a dance-like feel, combined with spinning attacks and acrobatic kicks.
However, Capcom also provides many updates. Ingrid is now equipped with various types of projectiles, including energy attacks that can be placed in the arena and a unique beam that is fired from her forehead—giving her a “magical girl” impression that is quite different from other Street Fighter characters.
One of the most interesting features is a new system called Sun Crest. This mechanic allows Ingrid to store up to four charges that can be used to strengthen certain attacks, including her beam ability.
Not only that, this charge can also increase the power of Super Art levels 1 and 2, adding depth to strategy when fighting.
Capcom seems to be aiming for Ingrid as a long-distance zoner type character. This is reinforced by the ability to teleport which has three variations of movement, allowing players to adjust distance, dodge, or setup attacks more flexibly.
With a combination of projectiles, high mobility, and a complex charge system, Ingrid has the potential to be one of the most technical characters in Street Fighter 6.

Ingrid’s presence in Street Fighter 6 is not just the addition of a new character, but also the redemption of a long history that had been postponed. From a canceled project to finally entering the main series, Ingrid’s journey has become a unique story in this legendary fighting franchise.
Now, the question remains: will Ingrid immediately become a new favorite among competitive players?

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google.
