News: Unexpectedly, Netflix Reportedly Making Live Action Persona Again!

Netflix has again made a bold move in the world of game adaptations, this time by targeting Persona as its new live action project. For many Atlus fans, this news feels more like a nightmare that suddenly came true than something they have been waiting for. Just imagine, this supernatural teen RPG series with school drama, gods, and a super stylish other world is now being prepared to be turned into a live action series. Many people immediately imagine the worst case scenario, especially since the track record of adapting games to live action so far… it’s really like that.

The latest report states that the big red platform is developing a live action series based on the Persona franchise, but it is not clear which game, whose characters, or even a new story will be based on the same world. What is clear is that this comes at an interesting moment, because Atlus itself has just officially teased the newest entry in this series, Persona 6, which is currently the topic of conversation among gamers. So on the one hand, the Persona IP is hot, on the other hand fans are still sensitive about how this franchise is treated outside of games, including anime and other spin-offs.

Behind the scenes, this project is filled with quite big names in the TV and film industry. Christopher Monfette will reportedly be the writer as well as showrunner and executive producer. He previously worked on series like 9-1-1 on major TV stations and was also involved in Star Trek Picard. Apart from that, there are also Shawn Levy and Robert Atwood who serve as executive producers through the studio 21 Laps, which recently co-produced the box office horror film Backrooms. Levy himself is known as the director of Deadpool and Wolverine and is currently preparing a Star Wars film entitled Starfighter. On the other hand, the Story Kitchen studio has also joined in, a studio that is diligently working on other adaptation projects, including live action for other IP games.

Until now, this streaming platform is still silent and has chosen not to provide any comments regarding rumors about this Persona series. The information is also limited to projects that are still in the early stages of development, so the possibility of the road being disbanded still exists. Interestingly, it was precisely this possibility of failure that many pessimistic fans secretly hoped for from the start. For them, Persona is a complete package: stylish visuals, unique music, psychological themes, social criticism, plus the daily lives of Japanese school children which are very difficult to translate into live action format without losing their lives.

Even if it continues, the Persona series will join the long line of game adaptations on this platform, along with other titles that were previously successful or at least widely discussed, such as The Witcher, Arcane, and Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which has even been confirmed to be returning with a much-awaited second season this year. This track record makes the situation somewhat complicated. On the one hand, there is evidence that game adaptations can be executed coolly. On the other hand, there are also examples of adaptations that fail, lose their original identity, or are too far from the original source material (such as games for example).

The thing that makes many people even more worried is the classic question: who is this series actually aimed at? Longtime Persona fans clearly have high expectations, from the character designs to the way heavy themes such as depression, political corruption, and inner conflict are presented. But if this project is made too safe, too generic, or too tailored to the tastes of mainstream audiences, there’s a risk that Persona will become just another supernatural teen drama. Moreover, this game series is also very synonymous with religious symbolism, the occult and bold visuals, which may not necessarily pass censorship or mass viewing standards.

In the midst of all these worries, opportunities actually still exist if they dare to take the right approach. For example, don’t force yourself to repeat the story of one game, but create an original story in the Persona world with a new cast, while still maintaining key elements such as the Velvet Room, contracts, and the theme of facing one’s own dark side. There are also fans who say they would be more interested if the setting wasn’t in Japan anymore, but in another country, as long as the essence of Persona is still felt. But of course all of this is still just speculation, because there are no official details yet, and everything we know is only initial reports.

So, for now, there is only one thing the community can do: wait, half resigned and half ready to be surprised. Whether this Persona live action series will be a pleasant surprise that can raise the bar for game adaptations again, or whether it will join the long list of projects that fans have forgotten about and only used as meme material, we will see later if the project actually continues to the production and release stage. What is clear is that this news is enough to make the Persona fandom divided between those who are curious and those who are just shaking their heads.

How? really interesting, right? Apart from this article, KotakGame also has an exciting video, come on, watch it!

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
